Volunteer: Provide a Meal: Breakfast

 

Breakfast Instructions

Thank you for providing breakfast for the clients at First Stop.

 

Here are some suggestions to make your breakfast service a pleasant success.

 

Include in your breakfast: (Note: You are encouraged to use your judgement and discretion in the preparation of the meal. Feel free to modify this suggestion as you see fit.): A breakfast entrée A breakfast side item Juice (boxes or bottles) or water Our kitchen is small and has limited cooking space. We suggest that your breakfast be hot when you arrive or only requiring warming to serve. This, of course, may not always be possible, depending on your food choices, but please be aware of our limitations. Please prepare to feed 90-100 clients. The staff may ask you to make extra plates of breakfast for late arriving clients. Please work with the staff. If you have sufficient food, the staff may also have a meal after all the clients have been served their second plate of food.  Seconds are served after 9:30 am. Use the materials provided to wipe down all of the serving surfaces in the kitchen. Staff and clients are willing to help, please allow them as you can. Bring 3 to 5 people to serve breakfast.  Space is limited. Arrive between 8:00 and 8:15. Breakfast is served from 8:30 am – 9:30 am.  If there is enough food, seconds will be served at 9:30 am. If you all cannot stay to serve until 9:30 am, please let a staff member know and the staff of First Stop will serve. Wear gloves (provided) when serving your meal. Please use the hand sanitation materials provided before serving any food. Please mingle with the clients and treat them with dignity and respect.

This, of course, may not always be possible, depending on your food choices, but please be aware of our limitations. Please prepare to feed 90-100 clients.
